Resection Colon (the second time)

After winter break, today was the first day to go back to this internship!
I felt so excited in the morning to get up and go to hospital.
The surgery I saw today was also about resection colon with tumor inside as I saw before leaving for winter break. Even though it was the same surgery, it was more awesome than before because I actually understood what was going on and what the surgeon was doing thanks to another doctor who were standing next to the surgeon to help out. He explained so deeply and with a lot of details that I felt extremely thankful.

They use a really special stapler which has two sides to staple and the blade is connected to this in the middle so that it can cut the bowel, fat or so on.
THE PROCESS TO REMOVE THE SECTION OF THE COLON (TUMOR INSIDE) AND TO CONNECT THEM AGAIN

The doctor told me that back then, they used to just connect two apart sections of the colon like the picture above. However, nowadays, they overlapped two separated parts and connect them so that the large intestine will be fine with other pressure, which was difficult back then.

The most awesome thing that happened to me today was that I got to cut the removed colon with gloves on and with scissors to see the tumor inside. The tumor looked like little pimples. Fortunately, his cancer stage was the beginning. I was so thankful for the surgeon who let me do that with another doctor's help beside me. It was so awesome and terrific to see the tumor right infront of my face and to cut the colon (large intenstine) with my hands!!!!!!!! The best day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
